GBGBBeautiful hotel, very tasty breakfast, very clean and comfortable room with good shower pressure. Well within walking distance of the main attractions. The hosts were really nice, as were their cats. There was parking available both at the hotel and on the road in front of the building. Will stay there again.
GBSophie and Alec welcomed us like friends. The property had a spacious bedroom with smart TV and bathroom with ample showering products. There was lots of choice for breakfast using local quality ingredients. There’s a short walk into the town and harbour making The Shirley an ideal place for exploring Torquay. Both Alec and Sophie made us feel welcome. There’s a lovely outdoor area although in December we didn’t use it. One real plus breakfast was served 08:45 - 09:45 which is a bonus not having to rise too early. Earlier breakfast was available on request

GBWhat a lovely warm welcome. The Shirley was a great find and the room was exactly as we expected. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay and they decorated our room with balloons and banners. Such a lovely gesture.
The only downside was the hill back from the marina. We know its all hills in Torquay so we just got a taxi back to save on my legs and back.

Pillows were a little bit on the firm side.
GBAlec and Sophie were very welcoming and friendly. The cooked breakfast was lovely. Location was good only a short walk to the Marina and town.
The access would be a problem for an older person or someone with walking issues, the car park was on an incline and rather steep steps to the property.

Fantastic hosts, always available for any queries, excellent breakfast, close to restaurants, pubs and the harbour. Gorgeous old building with lovely original features. All at a great price. Will definitely back again.
