Beautiful old pub with fantastic newly refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms. Impeccable taste. Our boys enjoyed playing pétanque in the lovely garden. Super comfy beds. Warm and friendly staff. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Yes it’s on a busy country road but there was no traffic after 10.30 so we slept well. It was so close to Kilve beach, that we walked there. Son found a huge fossil. Wished we had stayed longer. Only an overnight stop for a quick visit along Nth Devon coast before heading to South Devon. Would definitely recommend staying here. What a find!
The property is a sensitively updated and maintained listed building. We liked the comfortable furnishings and warm friendly atmosphere. The location is on a sometimes busy road that can be noisy.
Super stay! Room and bathroom were clean, pretty and peaceful; food was abundant, fresh, supporting local producers and service was excellent. I look forward to coming back! Thank you lots!

Warm welcome- Lawrence was friendly and attentive. The room was great. The owner ‘Paul’ is born & bred in the that area- extremely knowledgeable about walks etc We had a delightful hour or two doing the circular route along the coast at Kilve Beach. We had a fabulous bar meal during our stay and the breakfast was superb. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely historic pub. We will be returning!
