Bedroom very comfortable; though in need of a lick of paint on flat surfaces to replace that which keeps sticking to the welcome&info folder. Bar area and garden very pleasant, though limited ale selection. Restaurant experience atrocious. Over an hour wait at our booked table to receive food. No explanation. No apology. Empty glass taken with no suggestion of a refill. No deserts offered (though we’d have said no in case they took an hour to arrive as well). We didn’t see ANY tables served in a reasonable time. The food was ok, but nothing special. Really poor all round in this area of our stay. The place was busy, which may be presented as an explanation/excuse; but it was the night before Glastonbury and fully booked, so it wasn’t coming as a surprise to the management. They need to get their act together and do better with what is a lovely listed building.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating,always on hand to help with any queries.

Nice hotel, room was huge! Great food. Only 30mins drive from Bath park and ride which is much cheaper and easier than parking in Bath
