The Dragon Hotel

A beautiful old building in a wonderful location. Staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. Also the toiletries are gorgeous!

Being an old hotel, it's just not as comfortable as it could be - to be expected for the most part! But the shower was pretty dribbly and the bathroom generally needed a bit of tlc.

The rooms were spaceous and the curry in the restaurant was good. There was a relaxed atmosphere in the hotel with plenty room to sit and relax in or outside. The hotel is in the middle of the nice historic town of Montgomery.

Small items, such as had to ask for cutlery, bit of a long wait for hot breakfast and forgot to put a sheet on the bed. All quickly solved, but maybe a bit understaffed due to the bank holidat?

Beautiful location in Wales in an historic building. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent dinner in their restaurant. As a historic building our room was small but perfect. Able to open widow to fresh air. Highly recommended.

Parking was easy, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were comfortable and spotless. There was also a great selection of beers, which went down very well. One young lady in particular stood out — Amaya (I hope that’s the correct spelling). She was an absolute star: attentive, quick‑witted, full of great banter, and genuinely interesting to talk to. We all wish her every success in her future endeavours

Food quality during our stay was unfortunately well below the standard we expected. This was particularly disappointing as we had booked the restaurant for three nights, given that it is essentially the only dining option in town. We ultimately cancelled our third night and chose to dine in a town 8 miles away instead. Breakfast was also inconsistent, with several members of our group having to return dishes to the kitchen. I hope management will take this feedback in the constructive spirit intended. In our view, these issues need to be addressed to ensure a better experience for future guests. .

Lovely old Hotel, great dinner, breakfast and bar 👍 great parking and atmosphere. Also good value.

Hotel a little dated in places. Water pressure in the shower was very poor. Ended up have a bath for the first time in years!

Perfect for walking Offa's dyke, good location and excellent food in the restaurant. Staff all very friendly and welcoming.

Was really looking forward to our stay - an it did not disappoint! Room and food were exceptional, owner and staff friendly and helpful, and the location wonderful.

The only thing I didn't like was that we were only there for one night.
