The Bruce Hotel

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Plenty space. A good recommendation from the Bruce to nearby Crown hotel where we had a very good meal. Location good just off main road A75 after coming off ferry from Larne in Ireland. Excellent breakfast cooked to order.

Nothing. Although only bed and breakfast available, we were not looking for more from a hotel and they gave us information for a meal elsewhere nearby.

My bedroom was large with a wonderful view. The ensuite bathroom was spacious and spotless.

The fact that they have homeless staying there aswell as guests who think it's ok to keep pestering the PAYING GUESTS 😡 the hotel is also advertised as having a bar and it doesn't anymore it's more of just a bed and breakfast than a hotel

Breakfast was poor. Disappointed. Bathroom very bad state shower not working big crack in wash basin toilet very long time to refill.

When the rooms were booked it said some had breakfasts paid with the room - when we got there they insisted we had not paid for any breakfast so which is it....is the information you give on your webpage wrong or are the hotel wrong insisting breakfast wasn't paid for....really bad for both parties if you ask me and you did by sending this email

Cheap and cheerful, and I expected no more in terms of the accomodation as we got. Rooms were clean and functional which is all we needed.

The current clientelle. There was 'governement sponsored' people staying long-term at the hotel, which is fair enough, but at breakfast they wouldn't stop pestering you and trying to engage in your conversations as they have nothing else to do, and watching rubbish on their phones with the volume turned up. Exiting the hotel through a bunch of smokers isn't too pleasant, and a couple of them smoking weed down the back of the car park should not be allowed.

Lovely host and clean, had a spot to store our bikes too, great recommendation for food! Very comfortable
