"Weather bad but hotel comfortable with separate dining room for the many dogs. Great."

7.0

Breakfast and dinner excellent and dog friendly facilities absolutely great.

We had the shepherd's hut. We stayed. 2 nights. Shower facilities were good. cosy with good heating but we hadn't realised there would be nowhere to put our clothes. Otherwise fine for a short stay.

"Loverly hotel, just quality from start to finish"

Excellent service throughout, chilled, our Westie give 4 paws. Especially for the doggie breakfast

Why do Scottish hotels never serve Lorne in the Scottish breakfast, it’s more popular than haggis or black pudding ,

"A Comfortable Country House Hotel"

8.0

A very comfortable country house hotel with beautiful grounds. The room we has was spacious with a large bed. The bathroom was clean with good sized towells although there were no toiletries beyond the basic shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. Presumably other items were availble, if requested but we didn't need them. The restuarant has a local reputation and was indeed very good and reasonably priced as was the breakfast EV charging is available but was expensive in comparison to any other hotel I have stayed at, or indeed local public chargepoints

We were contacted by the hotel late on the afternoon of our arrival and asked if we wanted dinner as the restaurant was getting full. We confirmed we did. The slots we were offered were quite early or quite late neither of which really suited us. We took the late one as it is 11 miles to Dumfries and there is no other close alternative for dinner. I would have thought that the bookings would be given as a priority to residents especially after we had indicated on our booking we wanted dinner
