Albert Hotel

The staff were very friendly, the room comfortable and had a lovely dinner in the Neuk restaurant, which is part of the hotel. In the main part of town, so only a five minute walk to where I was going.

please note we were in the top super deluxe room, so review is of that room. Bit tricky to find hotel if you're using google-maps prior to arriving, due to a strange warp-jump between a separation strip of a non-usable road and a separate car-park road. Then you have to leave your car with no ticket (beware inspectors) while you check-in (slow). Not sure how parking works as our car was returned to hire-place after check-in. Doesn't look easy. Our top-range room was huge with a balcony and king bed, but cannot speak for other rooms. Lift is hidden, so ask if you need it. Large layout, obviously made up of many old houses... so has this "rabbit-warren" effect, but modern clean feel all over. Breakfast great. One over-worked waitress, but she was great. Reception often not there, so if you have questions, do it when you see them.

Lovely central location, easy access to the town and the bus station and tourist information centre. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was spacious with a great view of the Cathedral.

I had an overall good stay over the weekend at the Albert Hotel. Check-in was quick and simple, and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The large tub in the bathroom was a definite upside. However, a large music gig/festival was held in the downstairs restaurant/bar area on my second night. There was no information given to suggest this, and I was not told the bar/restaurant would not be available on the second night. However, the largest issue with this was the noise. While the actual music did not cause too much disturbance despite the smaller nature of the hotel, the guests/concertgoers were queuing & smoking below my window, and were very loud/drunkenly rowdy well into the wee hours of the morning, which made it incredibly difficult to sleep due to the noise. I know that this experience is not a usual one as this was a special event, but I do believe management could have been more forward with information regarding the event and what that meant for those staying. As I had an early morning the next day, the noise disturbance was really unfortunate.
