Anton Guest House Bed and Breakfast

A brief 15 minutes to town centre and a fabulous breakfast at Anton Guest House to start the day. Beautiful array of floral items in the petite garden.

Charming old-England atmosphere, thoughtful touches like cake & milk on arrival and chocolates in the room. Delightful warm hosts.

Third floor room was a bit too warm, but there was a fan provided.

The hostess had clearly thought through what you want from an overnight stay and provided nice extra touches. Eg offerred cake on arrival, full range of teas, coffees etc in the room. Ability to help oneself to fresh milk from the breakfast room fridge. Easy. Street parking at tge property.

Nothing stands out, it is a good bed and breakfast. If you are not into walking you may find the walk into town a bit far. But it's a pretty easy walk... and there are alternaive food options very close to the house.

Excellent & enjoyable visit. Louise was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. Our top floor room was clean and comfortable. A kettle and an assortment of teas, coffee and biscuits were awaiting us in the room and replenished during our stay. Breakfast - amazing choice. Food was plentiful, well cooked and tasty. Complimentary cake - Louise provided wonderful complimentary home baked sponge cakes in the dining room and encouraged us to help ourselves. We did! Not yet anaged to shed the extra weight we put on and we were nearly expelled from our local Weightwatchers Group when we attended our next Weigh In!! Apparently, the idea is to lose weight not put it on🫢🫢 Every day is a School Day😂 Anton Guest House is located an easy 20 minute walk from Shrewsbury Centre with its historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants. Evening Meal - There is an excellent pub just five minutes walk from the guesthouse which offers great Indian cuisine and a traditional pub food menu. A great selection of beers, wines etc too. We ate there both nights of our stay as we did not want to walk back into Shrewsbury Centre. A good decision. Would highly recommend Anton Guest House.

The location was perfect - close by to walk into the downtown area of Shrewsbury. Parking was on the street and easy to find a space. The host was wonderful - welcoming, friendly, helpful and made yummy lemon cake for guests arriving. Our room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the tables were so beautifully set with English china dishes and linens. A short but utterly delightful stay.

There was nothing we did not like.

Louise made us so welcome. Lovely to be made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the homemade cake and the breakfast was excellent.

We knew we were up two flights of stairs, but they were steep. Good job we are fit.

We had a wonderful stay at Anton Guest House and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shrewsbury. From the moment we arrived, Louise made us feel incredibly welcome. The facilities were excellent, with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Our room was spotless, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a great selection of excellent options to suit all tastes, all freshly prepared to a high standard. The home-baked cakes were a lovely touch and really added to the overall experience! The location has good local amenities including a corner shop and pub within a few minutes walk and is a fifteen minute walk from Shrewsbury town centre. All in all, a fantastic stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would certainly recommend it to others.
