Beautiful location. Lovely room. Great food. Very peaceful.

Not particularly warm or friendly welcome. Just abrupt questions. Then just stated in front of everyone at the bar "You haven't paid" Could be far more welcoming.....try smiling it doesn't cost anything! My Wife came to the bar for another drink and the girl looked at her and went to get meals from the kitchen and didn't serve her!

The hotel is welcoming and comfortable. A lovely garden to sit out abd have a drink. Room was comfortable and bright. Food was amazing.

Nice location, great parking, clean room & lovely breakfast

Bed was a bit hard

We booked a superior double room which had a six foot bed, just what we wanted. Very clean, modern and quiet. Excellent meal (fantastic Pavlova) Genial and attentive host. Was a good stopover, well placed for a variety of activities the next day

The stairs! Not that there is anything that can be done, it is a lovely very old inn and we will definitely return

The location was beautiful, so close to Ullswater. The staff were very polite and accommodating, the food was unbelievable and all locally sourced and home made. The room was spotless, and bed was super super comfy, with breakfast included it was fantastic value
