The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis

We stayed here from Oct. 24-28 and hosted a family wedding. The service was amazing and the staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you to Kate Hunter and team as this was really such a great experience. If you are considering a wedding reception here you will not be disappointed. We just had the best experience. Thank you!!!!

We had a fine uneventful stay at this Ritz Carlton to visit our son at Wash u. The room is nicely appointed and beds super comfortable. But it’s really just not a 5 star hotel like most Ritz Carltons in luxury resort or large city locations in terms of location and facilities. It backs onto a major highway, has unusable tiny terraces, and has no pool or hot-tubs. However, the main lobby is sumptuous and lively, parking is easy (but not free), staff is friendly, the gym is large and well equipped, and the location is convenient, though not charming. We went using points and would do so again, but probably would not pay the steep price in cash. Also, the many large events going on in the ballrooms, as well as live music in the lobby made the lobby super packed and difficult for us the walk through to get to elevators, and also unable to enjoy the lobby because every last seat was always taken. Fun and lively like a club, but a little over the top for our taste! But we would come here to party if we lived locally for sure lol.

I stayed at this property for business/conference. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and they had everything you could want. During the conference, we ate at the restaurants and had catering. All very good. The only small issue I had was my room was not ready until almost an hour after normal check in. The staff did what they could, and I appreciated their efforts.

Awful check in process. I booked a deluxe king, balcony room and they put us in a double queen room without even mentioning that our room type was being changed. After I got to the room I called down to the front desk they told me a king room wasn’t available and they would call me when one became available. We are now stuck as we can’t unpack and get ready for the wedding, we just have to sit here and wait for their call.

The reservation was messed up from the very beginning. They said they couldn't find it because as it was transferred from Booking.com to their system, it came out as: JensandEmilyForeman in one character string. We had to provide two different forms of confirmation before they let the bride check in. The next atrocity was that they charge the bride for the entire stay and it was already prepaid on a credit card. This happened on her wedding day and she was very distraught. After talking to management, they finally reverse the charges for being an upscale hotel the reservation system and their handling of the situation was horrible. It almost ruined this brides wedding event.

I recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton St. Louis using a high number of Marriott Bonvoy points, nearly equivalent to some of the nicest Ritz Carltons in the U.S., but the experience was quite disappointing. It was one of the busiest weekends at the property, and it really showed. I had previously stayed here and found it dated but charming and cozy. This time, the elevators were broken, with wait times up to 20 minutes. Coffee was never refilled by 8:00 a.m., and the only other option was the restaurant, where a single, overwhelmed employee was trying their best. My room was dirty, and I had to clean the bathroom myself. The grime and dust near the elevators were especially bad, with "Dust me" written in the dirt and beer bottles left around. Room service was also overwhelmed, and there was no turn-down service. For the high number of points I used, I was hoping for a cozy, relaxing weekend, but it fell far short of expectations. The furniture was old and frayed. The front desk staff, however, remained lovely despite everything.

I’m a big fan of this property, love the location and the ladies and gentlemen that work here! I have been coming here 1-2Xa year for the past 5 years and they have never disappointed. The rooms are nicely appointed, the club lounge is very quaint, and the people there make it special, and most of all this trip I was super excited about the renovation and expansion of the lobby bar - wow, game changer! So much space and it was quite the hustle and bustle last night…even on a Monday. The drinks and food menu is excellent however, the addition of the sushi is extra special! My Clayton sushi roll was spectacular and I loved watching the sushi chef go nonstop, smiling all the way and enjoying every bit of what he did. You could feel that vibe throughout the lounge as my server was also super pleasant. While I was there, I was able to enjoy a relaxing Massage and wanted to share Phoenix a special thanks to Emma for making my appointment and also retrieving my wallet! While in the club lounge, I also wanted to thank Martha for going out of her way to help me. I was in need of a blowout and could not get through to the local salon. Martha offered that she had the managers number and would text her, how amazing is that? In closing, I want to thank Mr. Bosther Kusich, Hotel GM who provided a very warm welcome! It’s nice to return to a place and know you are appreciated. What’s interesting is he was the GM of the Fort Lauderdale Ritz during the pandemic, where we would escape from Massachusetts for the warm Florida sun and fresh air during the winter months! I always feel the love when returning to a Ritz property and thank Mr. Kusich for completing the lobby bar early so I could enjoy this trip, it’s amazing!

The worst experience I have ever encounterrd at a Ritz Carlton. After checking in our room at 5:00p.m., the room next to us was blaring with loud music and talking. The sound vibrated in our room. We ignored it, to giving them the opportunity to quiet down. Upon returning at 10:30p.m. the noise was even worse. We called the front desk multiple times and no one answered. My husband went to the front desk and no one was to be found, so he knocked on the door and someone came out. I had to call the hotel from my own phone to reach someone. I reported the issue and was told that they would send security. Well after 15 minutes, security arrived. They were told to quiet it down. We were told by security that they would monitor the situation. Thirty minutes later, the noise continues. The Ritz St.Louis doesnt appear to care about the people staying here. Stay elsewhere for a more enjoyable evening.
