The Kilverts Inn

The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable, except low beams. Breakfast was nicely cooked. Couple who run it were charming and helpful. It was quite convenient for the Hay Festival.

The room wasn't automatically serviced every day and this was not made clear up front. For what were paying, I think it should be daily serviced. When we asked, it was. One of the doors to the shower was off its rail and should have been checked and repaired before we arrived.

Fantastic staff! Amazing food! Bed was super comfy! We were leaving early and would miss breakfast, but the chef had made amazing bacon rolls to take with us :)

Location and outside seating areas. Lovely bar area. Lovely manageress.

Room was a little scruffy. Cobwebs everywhere. Took ages to get served at the bar but that could be to do with new staff this week. Some parts of the pub very dated. A bit dark.

Super friendly staff very accommodating, Felt they really wanted to look after us. Room was fine for our needs. Breakfast was wholesome and freshly made to our request

An awful microwaved breakfast is not acceptable for £160 a night. It must be really, really good and there is plenty of local produce that could be used. We did not eat breakfast on the second morning as it just wasn't edible. There were lots of flies, dead and alive, in the dining room. Generally, this whole place needs a massive clean. These are rooms above a pub - this is not a hotel in any shape, manner or form. If we have paid £80 a night then fair enough but not at £160 out of season. Service is completely non-existent.

There was nothing to not like.

No front door key was provided and this caused considerable difficulty on return from a function and only after a considerable delay was it possible to enter the hotel.
