Creeky bed, old saggy mattress and bring your own toilet rolls.

The breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice. Didn’t like the fact that my friend was cancelled only a couple of days beforehand due to ‘overbooking’. This meant my stay wasn’t as pleasant. We were going to walk home together from our University reunion and in the morning have breakfast together. Instead he had to book a hotel in a different direction.

"Basic and noisy but very convenient."

8.0

Great location - noisy but you've got to expect that right in the city centre - take ear-plugs. Helpful, friendly staff. Basic breakfast in a dingy room but edible. The coffee was very weak though. No parking - we left the car in Newarke St multi-storey - 3 minute walk. Just two irritants, really - the plug was stuck open so you couldn't fill the sink for a wash or a shave and the shower had nowhere to put your shampoo and stuff. Of all the silly little things, how is it that hotel managers can't get a plug fixed or give you a rack so the shower is usable!? But for the price and convenience I'd use the Castle Park again. If you like ale you will LOVE the Two Tailed Lion and the Blue Boar... and they're right next door.

"Castle Park Hotel, Leicester"

6.0

Visiting Leicester for a party with friends, Castle Park Hotel ideally located close to venue and excellent value for the money. Clean room, pleasant decor, friendly staff. It is a noisy hotel due to location close to pubs clubs, but saying that, for a one night stay perfect and far better than some more expensive hotels I have stayed in. Thank you.

"Better hospitality required"

6.0

Nice place. Slightly overpriced. Someone knocked on door at 10.29 to say time to go as checkout was 10.30. We are quite capable of telling the time. Also I had to go and fetch the car and my wife had to wait outside in the cold as reception was all locked up at 10.32am

This hotel was just “okay,” mostly for reasons outside of its control. I will say that the front desk and breakfast room staff were friendly. Breakfast was not cooked but a sufficient “continental” with hard boiled eggs, cereals, meats, cheeses, yoghurt, juice, tea, and coffee. I was surprised that one of the small lights in the bathroom didn’t work, toilet paper holder was broken off the wall, and while there was hand soap and shampoo provided, there was no body soap or lotion. There was no non-slip mat for the shower, which was dangerous. The hotel could improve by providing these few amenities. The room was clean, bed was not very padded. There was no in-room safe; there is no lift, so be prepared to deal with this. The worst part about this hotel — and the reason I will not go back — is because there are nightclubs right below and across the street from the hotel. On Friday night, there was LOUD noise from 7 pm until 3:00 in the morning and on other nights, the noise was nearly as bad and nearly as long. There were double windows, but the noise entered the room, anyway. I had to sleep with earplugs every night and I could STILL hear the noise. I know this is not the hotel’s fault — although, perhaps they could invest in some real noise-blocking windows. Better room entry doors would block hall light at night and an outward-swing door on bathroom would make it easier to use that small space.
