"Great place"

8.0

Great location close to train station and centre for shops, bars, restaurants . Staff friendly, great buffet breakfast (hot and cold options)

Bit noisy due to road at front, creaky floors and old windows (it's an old building) Bar closes early.

"Quite a basic old hotel but at the price it's reasonable - good location for the bus & train station"

6.0

Staff were friendly. We requested a quiet room and we were given this - thank you. Perfect location for the bus and train station - they are literally across the road. We stayed here for the night before our ferry crossing to the Scilly Isles and it was convenient for that purpose. The pub and restaurant downstairs are handy if you don't want to venture out - do make sure you book a table though, your room booking does not secure a table booking.

This is quite a run down old property. It was clean but care is not taken - an example, the shade on the very basic bedside lamp was all cracked and torn and pretty much falling apart - you can pick up a lamp for 10 pounds - replace the lamp shade!. I imagine management are not aware of this but surely house keeping turn on every light to check the light bulbs on room change over days? There are many heavy fire doors to pull open in narrow corridors to get to your room so if you have a lot of luggage be aware of this.

Good room and bathroom. Have stayed at Longboat many times and have had this particular room before.

Breakfast included would gave been good, though of course we had the option to pay extra, though it suited our needs really as were going to join the queue to board the Scillonian by 08.00 latest so time was limited.

"It worked well for me and I would stay at the Inn again."

8.0

The location was excellent as I travelled by train, and it is only 1 minutes walk from the train station and I could so easily walk to the shore or further into the town. I felt very relaxed and comfortable staying in the Inn on my own. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room stayed cool during the heatwave. The two meals I had, dinner and breakfast were both good.

The TV in my room did not work, I had a repeated message saying no signal. A member of staff tried to fix it but was not able to. There was a programme I had particularly wanted to watch that night which I consequently had to miss.

"Disappointing"

5.0

Breakfast was good and the proprietor was very helpful. Room was clean and adequate for a pub standard

Evening meal staff were not helpful. We arrived at 7.45 and asked for a meal and were told to come back at 8.15. We came back at 8.15 and were told the meals had finished. The catering lady was not at all helpful and did not apologise or suggest any alternatives. We felt we were just an irritation. We ate elsewhere after that.
