Rosedale Inn

The Rosedale Inn is a run down, sub-par establishment. We had booked our 3-night stay in the "Premium Two Queen Suite" that was stated to be an Executive Queen Room. There wasn't anything PREMIUM or EXECUTIVE about this place! Stayed the 1st night, paid for the 2nd night just to have enough time that morning to tell them we were checking out, ask politely for credit for the 3rd night (Friday night @ $355) and get packed up to get out of there! Everything was old, dated and/or worn out starting with the curtains sagging & dragging and when you opened them to look out, you saw the run down grounds area where even a very dead pine tree lay on the ground half cut and disposed of and maybe the rest disposed slowly on every garbage day??? The wallpaper in places was coming lose, couch and chair was motel modern 1960's and 3 bar stools, only 2 matched, the 3rd was more like a utility stool. Small microwave turntable wouldn't stay on its track so you could only use for less than 30 seconds before it started to hit the door and small refrigerator was missing its shelf. The Spa-Tub finish was worn out so even though it was clean it looked dirty. The bath towels and bath mat towel were clean but thin and worn. Beds were just OK. Bedding was clean. The only good thing about this whole experience was when I called to tell them we were checking out early, the nice woman asked me if it was because of the room. I told her yes, told her it was sub par and she said she understood. I then asked if it was possible to get the 3rd night credited back to us as they had a 3 day cancellation policy. She agreed and gave us until noon to check out. We moved to the Best Western Plus in Monterey for Thursday & Friday night. Everything was as expected there with exceptional service, clean room, comfy beds, great hot breakfast and a pleasant stay for $542.

I have stayed here 4 times already, and love it, Clean rooms staff was friendly and great ocean close by walking distance about 8 minutes fast wifi a little older but make it feel homie, will continue staying here

It was close to the beach, grocery store, and not far from coffee shops

There are no attendant after 8pm so we couldn’t let anyone know that there were several bugs on the bed. We came back from store to find ants had gotten in our food and also all over the wall and on the carpet. There was no housekeeping available during your stay no matter how many days we would’ve stayed. There was only a very small garbage can in the bathroom so if you wanted to get rid of your trash, you had to go outside to put it in the garbage can. A lot of patchwork done on the walls, mismatch furniture. No instructions how to operate fireplace turn on fan or how to operate the TV. It was about 7:55 PM when called the attendant because we could not operate tv and couldn’t find switch for ceiling fan. I asked attendant to please come to our room to help us He seemed annoyed and made us feel dump. Really everything we would have overlooked but because he made us feel this way we will never stay at this property or recommend it to anyone This definitely is not a three star property.

Needs huge renovations, too dark, depressing, outlets not usable, stuffy, window screens/curtains were coming out, and the whole property needs attention. Beds were comfortable. Felt the place is being neglected and fresh paint would help.
