Laru Beya Resort

The Laru Beya is a nice smaller resort with a nice pool and bar/restaurant. The room was basic but entirely adequate for our needs. It had a small patio, AC, ceiling fan, and a small TV. Internet in the room was sketchy but very good in the general service areas of the resort. Service was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They would line you up for any of the tours or water activities you want. We used the bikes to get around the area and golf carts were also available. You need the golf carts or a taxi to access Placencia village, but being out of the hub of activities was what we wanted. There were some nearby restaurants which were good, Habenaros being our favorite. It is right across the road from The Moorings/Sunsail so handy if you plan on sailing. Publics grocery store was nearby as well. Nice clean pool area with plenty of towels and loungers. The stiff winds we had our time there brought in s lot of sea weed which was the case all along the peninsula. Laru Beya did the best of the other places along the shore to keep ahead of the cleaning.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Placencia. ALL of the staff members are incredibly nice, they made our stay so comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel was great! Perfect distance from town, they do have complimentary bikes and rentable golf carts (we did both). The rooms were clean, each balcony had a hammock, and it was right on the beach! Would absolutely stay again!

The property has a sweet feeling in a stunningly beautiful setting. The staff are genuinely happy, helpful and generous, obviously working for a benevolent outfit. We were embraced as family, laughed with staff and other guests and look forward to making Laru Beya a yearly destination to restore and rejuvenate our spirits:)

We have never booked a vacation like this before. This was for our 50th Anniversay and chose Belize not knowing anything about it. We spent 3 months checking on everything we could. I even called the hotel and spoke to Sharon to have a person to answer little things like do you need a jacket, how far are some of the outings we wanted to go on. Our plane was late arriving, no problem they waited for us. We were greeted with a gift for our anniversary, then we were shown our room which was on second floor (no elevator) stairs only. I have bad knees and feet so Ed said, “let me check something for you,” and 10 minutes later we were in a first floor ocean front beautiful apartment. On our Anniversary the staff set up a table surrounded with lights in a heart shape and a waiter from the restaurant was assigned to us. It was a wonderful dinner (very good food) and the atmosphere was splendid. It was more than we could have asked for. We highly recommend Laru Beya for a great time.

The service was outstanding and very accommodating. Our TV went out for a while and they sent a man to fix it immediately. The room was fantastic right on the beach and steps away from the pool. The people there are very friendly and the food was fantastic. It was well worth the drive from the Beliz airport. I would do this again!

Relaxing stay on a beautiful beach. The staff at the restaurant are wonderful.

What started out as a very stressful honeymoon trip (we missed our flight due to a family emergency) quickly turned into perhaps the best vacation ever. And a large part was the accommodating and welcoming staff at Laru Beya. By far one of the nicer resorts we stayed at (and this includes a few famous resorts in South Beach Mia) And staff was great, food was excellent, and service was awesome. Stay here if you go to Placencia

Our one bedroom suite was ocean front with beautiful Carribean views from the balcony. We loved sitting out in the morning with coffee and a good book...or just gazing at that beautiful view. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spotless, with amenities. The restaurant, Quarter Deck Restaurant and Bar, served delicious meals, which we enjoyed nearly every night, for dinner. The pool was immaculate and the grounds and gardens were beautifully maintained. Sharon in the office was always a step ahead, and shout out to Alicia and Pablo, who made us feel like the restaurant was our little home kitchen. Can't wait to visit again!

One of the better hotels in placencia. Has a lovely open restaurant with very good food. Also has a nice infinity pool which is good since the beach in front of the hotel is a disapointment.

I just returned from a 5 night getaway with my college-aged son. Laru Beya is a lovely, quiet, well-maintained property. The grounds and pool are always being cleaned. Food is good (only had breakfasts there), staff is very friendly and helpful and the setting is heavenly. A low-key, casual place. Would definitely return.
