Maison Claire

I had a wonderful stay. The property is perfectly located- just a short walk from the bus station, and right in the heart of the city. It couldn’t be more convenient. The owner, Claire, is such a lovely and helpful lady.From the moment I got off the bus, she called to guide me on how to get to the property and made sure I settled into my room smoothly. Her warm hospitality really made my stay extra special.

The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the bathroom- the room I stay has a narrow space (not small, just a bit tight). But overall, it was a great stay, and I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Chester.

The owner was friendly, the hotel was in a good location and the decor was fun.

The fob system didn't work well. As the owner was showing me how it worked when I first arrived, it failed on us, leaving us locked out of the building - until she went round the back to let us in. She gave me a different fob but I wasn't overly hopeful it would work later on. When I arrived back at 1am, surprise surprise, the fob didn't work. I tried countless times to be let in, following the instructions I had been given. I (a lone woman in my twenties) was waiting outside in the dark until the owner spoke to me through the ring doorbell and guided me on how to reset the lock. All a bit of a faff and could easily have been prevented by just offering a regular key! The owner's dog also jumped up on me (and my white trousers) on arrival. Not ideal.

Room was smaller than expected and accessing the property was a little complicated

Would have preferred a chair to be available in the room.

I asked if I could have access to the kitchen but was told I paid for a room only. I checked in late at 8pm and I only wanted to warm my milk at the microwave. Atleast good guess would have been appreciated. But it's all good. Would have preferred a chair to be available in the room.

Ideal location. Very security conscious. Comfy beds. Good value and Claire was great both before we arrived and during check in. Easy check out too. Good facilities, ample cushions and couldn’t hear any noise from other guests.

We were missing a bath towel for one guest. No locks on the bathroom doors in both rooms. One of the rooms was on the small side.
