Friendly staff, rooms could do with a update

Location, food, staff, cleanliness.

Small (10x12) room, noise from traffic in the day and aircon unit on the roof. Needs net curtains as garden looks straight into the room!

Noise from bar below, breakfast awful, no self service for drinks, pastries, fruit, fruit juice- had to ask staff, like being at school.

Staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. It was a very enjoyable stay!

Restaurant closed too early for me, but I did know.

The staff - in particular Colin in the bar, and Sue who served breakfast. As a solo female traveller, I very much appreciated Colin's kindly attention. He ensured that I was comfortable generally, and also whilst eating alone in the bar area in the evening. He also arranged for me to have a 'buffet' breakfast in my room, on the day that I had to leave the pub before the breakfast service started. Sue, who served breakfasts, was friendly, helpful and lovely to chat to.
