Hotel y Bungalows Balcón de Competa

The hotel was well positioned, well appointed and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was clean surprisingly deep.Breakfast was simple but beautifully fresh. The hotel also has its own taxi service, which is a lifesaver in a small town like Competa.

It would have been nice if there was a hotel bar for an evening drink or coffee.

Aircon didn't work properly Shower screen didn't work so bathroom floor flooded Toilet flush didn't work properly Restaurant and bar closed on the day we were there and hadn't seen this mentioned when booking Expensive for standard of room

The pool was nice.

The breakfast was sad and underwhelming at best, we were very disappointed as others reviews said the breakfast was good - which it definitely wasn’t. Some dried ham and cheese and a couple of tomato slices were pretty much all you could eat if you don’t eat mini croissants and yoghurt loaded with sugar. Saying that the hotel is outdated is a severe understatement. It should have been renovated 20 years ago, things are broken and the furniture looks like you’ve travelled back to the 80s. The staff is friendly but confused. Unfortunately we also stayed there on a Wednesday which meant the restaurant and cafeteria was closed.

Rooms smelled musty, pool unavailable was dirty full of flies nothing like the booking.com photos, has had a leak for some time so water level too low to reach filters we left early as pool was main reason for booking the hotel, were told hotel is up for sale and there is a general feeling of disinterest from the staff would not advise anyone to book this hotel it is in a poor state

Great place to stay, a lovely welcome and well-kept, clean bedroom. A good breakfast selection eating on the terrace with wonderful views. Wouid recommend!

reception was not staffed at times and we had to wait on arrival (30min) and check-out (10min) parking offered by the hotel was difficult to get to - but plenty of public parking is available nearby.

Friendly reception staff, restaurant has good food but only fair service, clean and slightly dates rooms.
