Liked the breakfast and evening meal. Choice of ales and ciders

Being woken up by the fire alarm at 1am, twice!! No apology from anyone. No explanation. A young lad (looked like kitchen staff) talking in the courtyard area on the phone (possibly had his headphones in) the whole conversation was echoing in the courtyard after the 1am fire alarm. My husband and I didn't sleep well after that. Mirror in bathroom too high unless you're taller than 5ft 10. The kettle had black bit in it. Had to rinse and boil several times to clear it. The extension cable that the kettle plugs into dangles dangerously. Mouldy silicone around the bath and the bathroom ceiling was marked a lot. The shower heads covered in limescale. The bathroom light above the bathroom mirror had a cord to turn on and off. It didn't turn off. When a woman took us to our room it was up a wooden staircase, I said oh, its upstairs!! She looked at me and said we only have one disabled room. I wasn't asking for a disabled room. Why did she assume I was disabled? Not that I should justify myself. My reason for the stairs comment is having a bad knee. At breakfast no butter, had to ask. No staff when we checked out. The welcoming we got upon arrival was not great. Shame we weren't informed there was live music on that evening and the pub could get busy. The bar staff were lovely at dinnertime and found us a table reasonably quick.

Insonorisation pas terrible. On entend les personnes à côté. Heureusement, à partir de 23h il n'y a eu aucun bruit.

What a little gem of a pub. We popped in on Market day for a bite to eat and a drink. We received a warm welcome from the staff. We had a stake which was cooked perfectly and a club sandwich, all the food was delicious and good value, there was even lunch and snacks for our dog. The chef came out to check everything was OK with the meal, which was a nice touch. Two very happy customers and one very happy dog.

Very good, we had a fantastic sunday lunch,, staff were super friendly and efficient, room was spacious with the most comfortable bed ever!

Location, central but VERY quiet and peaceful. Excellent bedroom, large king-size bed, excellent hot water supply, marvelous shower! Steamer instead of iron great idea, powerful little hairdryer. Excellent breakfast, very good quality local produce.

Not advised of flight of external steps up to room...

My stay was perfect. A sincerely warm welcome, en suite room was warm and cosy and just right, bed was very good quality mattress and bedding. I soothed my aches and pains in a relaxing bath then watched TV, room was quiet and very comfortable. I had roast chicken and perfectly cooked fresh vegetables in the bar, it was very tasty, delicious and hit the spot. Very friendly home from home, would not hesitate to stay again, thank you. I would always rather stay somewhere with soul, character and history, instead of a corporate profit box, and of course support the local community not a trans-national corporate chain.
