Great location, great staff, great breakfast

Good location to be close to the town. Reasonably priced. Bed comfortable.

Cleanliness was an issue - the room smelled unpleasant when I arrived and I think the staff knew this is as the windows were left open despite the cold. The bathroom smelled like old urine and this had transferred into the room as the door was left open. The bathroom really needs a very deep clean - it looked ok at a quick glance but a look at the walls, skirting boards etc around the toilet showed it was quite dirty and this was probably where the smell was coming from. Some maintenance issues too, the window blind didn’t work and again this was known by the staff as it was tucked up above the window. I only found it didn’t work when I tried to lower it at night. The loo roll holder was in a daft place so you constantly knock the loo roll off. The fact that the holder has been badly plastered back on shows this! The bathroom is really small, ok for me but for a larger or taller person it would have been really tight. It was pretty noisy too, I expected this being above a pub but the walls between rooms are really thin and someone in a neighbouring room had their tv on full blast until late. The street outside starts to wake up early so a lie in isn’t really an option either.

The location was just fantastic for everything, our room was clean, well stocked & spacious.
