The Royal Inn

Room was comfortable and provided all needed for an overnight stay.

No food was available during our stay. We did get notification of this prior to arrival.

Room - this room was comfortable and well laid out Bed - This was the winning feature, the bed was really comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep Location - Being across the road from the train station was perfect Wifi - was reasonable for what we required (doing a bit of work and my son playing games/watching YouTube)

Dinner & Breakfast - sadly we were informed on the first night that neither dinner nor breakfast would be available that night, so I had to take my 8 year out to get a chinese (I can recommend the Golden Wok if anyone is in the same circumstance), as for breakfast we had to cope with cereal out of the mugs on day 1 due to time constraints. On day 2 I messaged to ask if dinner/breakfast would be available that evening/next morning, but no again the kitchen, and indeed the entire pub was closed, so we got to test out St Austell's Dominos delivery and The Par Track cafe for breakfast, both highly recommended. This was hugely disappointing as the main reason I chose a pub with guestrooms was so we could eat on site and my autistic son wouldn't need to go back out after busy days. Had I have known the kitchen and pub would be shut, I'd have booked an airbnb and sorted ourselves out with prior notice (and lower cost). Staff - I had to resort to messaging via Booking.com in order to speak to the staff. The reception was permanently closed with signs saying go to the bar, but the pub/bar was shut. We did finally get in touch with staff members and sort out what we needed to, but it was all rather a lot of effort and felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Cleanliness - was borderline - the room was okay but I did find some shards of glass on the carpet, and there were make-up marks on the towels. We also didn't receive any housekeeping, so had to use damp towels on day 2 as I'd left them in the bath thinking they'd be changed for us.

The room was ok , comfy bed . Decent bathroom.

Lack of privacy overlooked by bungalow next door and no net curtains just curtains which we had to keep closed . On arrival it was very cold and window was open , asked for heating to be put on , this didn't happen our entire stay . No staff around at 9am in morning to ask advice for somewhere to eat as kitchens were unavailable for 1st night evening and next day breakfast. Popped to car but got locked out as no external doors open . Had to phone partner to let me in Felt ignored !

Check in. Staff. Comfortable bed.

Room too hot, noisy outside with window open. Restricted storage space for bathroom items. Lots of extension leads around. No food for evening or breakfast. Screwed up blankets on top of wardrobe - looked dirty.

Room was fine.

No breakfast available which was disappointed

I was given another room after the first one was not very good,staff polite.

Found out the pub does not serve food when on booking.com it advertises food.

Proximity to station

There was a strange smell in the room from the moment I was shown the room. Quite off putting. It remained for the night.

Nice generally clean rooms. Accommodating to bed request. Spacious room. Bath in bathroom. Very firm mattresses. Lots of storage. Nice smoking area. 2 pillows each. Nice plush carpet.

Toilet was not cleaned properly. When having a bath you could see black marks around the inside rim. Doors banged a lot and locks were fiddly. Towel rail did not work and markings around lights in both bedroom and bathroom. No hand towel.
