Excellent. Wonderful food very polite and helpful staff. Great selection on menus. Good selection of real ales. Breakfast too much to eat at a very low price if you go for the full English. Overall a very pleasing experience. Would fully recommend this establishment to one and all.
GNR Weekend 2 Rooms booked First for daughter husband & 2 children Sat Night & 2nd my wife & I for Sat & Sun.Told that 1 child had to share with us so Family 4 had to be split Spoilt by owner's over officious demeanour & disregard for customer needs enforced by inflexible rules Failed to gain access to Inn till 5PM having arrived 4 PM Sat Official hours of business clearly exhibited right of front door stating access only permitted after 5PM Sat Went for drive round local area. Not very impressed at lack of other decent eating facilities (re Sunday) Upset, returned met by Kirsty told her problem but she responded that we should have rung bell despite the place being locked up & lights out we are always here! Pointed out that there is no sign advising this Having envisaged problem finding suitable dining for Sunday Evening asked if we could cancel Sun night Met with blunt yes but you'll have to pay full price for it . Reluctantly decided to stay Told if wanted cooked breakfast to put in order with time by 9PM - regimental rules! Room 6 very musty smell thought it would clear but didn't Decent evening meal spoilt by Kirsty made big issue that 5 yr old had inadvertently got colouring on place mat despite waitress giving out sheets to colour in Then completely unnecessary comment about hope they don't mark the bed linen with pens If owner feels Swan is B&B then should be sold as such . Clients not encouraged to use bar facilities outside set meal times Not recommended
Check in was lovely. The woman was very nice. The room was a good size but smelt of damp although no damp could be seen. Plenty of tea and coffee etc. But the room was rather dusty and the kettle was very dirty. And sheets where clean and bed was comfy but was a very small double luckily we had a single aswell so my husband could sleep in that. Free WiFi and good tv signal which was good. When we checked in we asked to have a full English in the morning. We went over at 830am as the woman had said. We where asked why we didn't order a breakfast last night. Which we said that we checked in at 12 ordered a breakfast and then left for the day to attend a wedding. We where then told that a full English would take to long so could have bacon and eggs. Which was very disappointing as we where looking forward to a proper breakfast. Didn't even get any sort of sorry which was slightly annoying. Wasn't the worst experience but wouldn't stay again as a few aspects just seemed out dated and very regimental like we couldn't relax. Thanks
Free "Continental breakfast" consists of only cereal and toast. Upgrade to cooked breakfast £5.
Very friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent food in the restaurant with a good varied menu. Good location for visiting the attractions in the area. Easy access to major roads and also to the coast. If you don't want to drive, public transport stops right outside. This is our second visit to the hotel and I'm sure it won't be our last.
Spacious accommodation for 3 of us. Nice bar and restaurant next door. Very welcomingood service and a great stay overbally.
The Swan at Choppington has motel style accommodation facing onto a car spaces for each room. We had a good welcome and flooding the restaurant was fair and reasonably priced. Although the accommodation faces onto a road we were not troubled by noise and slept well. Our room smelt musty, almost damp and that might have been a problem if we had been planning a longer stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and responded well when anything was mentioned. The bed was great and comfortable but some of the bathroom furnishings (cupboards and surfaces) were really needing replacement. The normal wear and tear of a bathroom had taken its toll.
Nice small family run inn, Staff are charming. Food is good and plentiful. Only negative is the rooms could do with thicker curtains. Very happy to stay here again.
Very run down, room smelled of damp and mildew, furniture was falling to bits, the mattress was absolutely shot, and the included breakfast was toast. Anything cooked was extra.
Good hotel clean and very spacious. Would stay again.
