The Reading Rooms

The place is lovely, with large and comfortable rooms. Brian, the owner, is very friendly and helpful in any way he can. The kids had a great time and described the stay as a wonderful experience.

Location, great welcome, small property but having very good facilities. Breakfast included. Lovely large en suite room. Comfortable beds and easy chairs. Easy parking on road nearby. Owner very obliging, easy-going and helpful. It was a real pleasure that he met us personally and took time to chat with us.

Brilliant welcome. Everything you could possible need was there. A very comfortable bed and good shower. Breakfast was great.

I always rise early and appreciated being able to access my own breakfast at a time to suit me, rather than being confined to specific times.

Almost everything! We stayed here our first night on our first trip to the UK, and it was a wonderful welcome! The town is small and picturesque, and the property is in a fantastic location—right on the river with an excellent view of the old bridge. It’s also on the main street, so access and parking were easy, even for my first time driving in the UK. The proprietor, Brian, was great, too! He had great suggestions on where to go in the area, and was friendly and welcoming, too.

I had plenty of choice for my needs, but anyone expecting a 'full English' will be disappointed. The location was excellent. My room was large and airy and the view of the bridge and the river was a bonus.
