Aynsome Manor

Very high quality, stylish spec with excellent attention to detail throughout. Little touches were very good. Staff (Gillian & Mark) were super friendly, helpful & clearly proud of the hotel. Breakfast v good. The shuttle into Cartmel is a great idea.

Room 10 was a lovely spec & beautifully finished; however became very stuffy as couldn’t open windows due to large number of flies gathering in the room. We were provided with fly spray quickly but not offered an alternative room (which I guess was owing to other rooms being full to accommodate a business meeting being held there). There are steps up to the bathroom which some people may not like.

Wow – what an incredible experience! Our stay at Aynsome Manor last night was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We were made to feel like royalty from the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Rachel with a glass of Prosecco. She took the time to explain everything about our stay and reassured us that she’d be happy to help with anything we needed. Later, Mark kindly chauffeured us into Cartmel (complimentary, no less!). He was such a knowledgeable and friendly guide, recommending the perfect place for dinner, even making the booking for us. He dropped us off and picked us up at our convenience, all while sharing fascinating history about the area. In the morning, we were greeted by the lovely Tina at breakfast. Her service was faultless – nothing was too much trouble. She mentioned it was her very first shift at Aynsome, though you’d never have guessed, as she was attentive and professional throughout. A big thank you also to the chef, who stepped in at short notice when the regular chef was unwell, and still managed to serve us one of the best breakfasts we’ve had. The thoughtful turn-down service in our room was the perfect finishing touch. We’ve stayed in many places over the years, but this truly stands out as one of the very best. Thank you to the whole team – we’ll definitely be back
