Lovely Manager James; great breakfast; fresh and newly refurbished rooms; nice bathroom.

Everything here is brand new, in a very old manor. We spent considerable time with two of the three managers while we were there, and found them to be incredibly accommodating and kind. The room was wonderful. Spacious and clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom lovely. The bar downstairs in the old wine cellar is a vibe. Breakfast was the among the best we had throughout our entire trip through Europe. The selection was unreal, and made to order. I honestly couldn't believe it on the first day when the food came out. This place made my wife and I feel special, and we measured each place we stayed after on our experience here. We loved walking the pastures in to town, and would stay here longer on our next visit.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous room, comfortable bed. Staff were superb, breakfast was fantastic.

We stayed for 4 nights an d could not have enjoyed it more. Top qulaity accommodation, lovely rooms including the breakfast room and lounge, and its location next to Cartmel was superb. I delight to stay in and the staff were all just brilliant.

Unfortunately there were workmen working outside of our room if I had known would not have booked at this time and would have waited until works were finished but We did have a lovely time although on the day we arrived it was noisy until 5,00pm and couldn't have a afternoon snooze.

The decor was fabulous, great locations and felt real luxury. Staff were amazing, friendly and really helpful. They have dog friendly rooms and they offer a taxi service to Cartmel on races days

Not much! Only thing I would change is music in the dining room, reception area and bar is I was being really picky! I think that would add to the great atmosphere already created. They are doing a lot of work in the grounds so I imagine when we stay again, that will be fabulous
