"Exceptional B&B. Breakfast 10/10. Excellent staff. Expensive but worth it!"

Our room was beautifully decorated, the shower room was exceptional, the bed really comfortable and the sheets were luxurious. The staff were wonderful, Gillian was especially good, she couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast in the dining room was superb, lots of choice and beautifully cooked with delicious pastries. Both the dining room and the sitting area in the hall had log fires which added to the atmosphere. There was limousine service to and from Cartmel in the evenings. There was also a mini bar in the room and unlimited coffee and tea. Dogs are welcome in some of the rooms. The complimentary glass of champagne on arrival was a lovely touch.

It would have been even better had there been a bar, so that we could have sat by the log fire with our friends. But I believe that there are plans to have a bar very soon. The property is a walk from Cartmel (about 20 mins across a field) and isn't really doable with suitcases so taxis are needed and they are not easy to find.
