Riding Farm

Location of the farm was great, especially to visit Beamish Museum, which was our weekend event. Was nice to receive a discount from the farm to use for the tickets. The cottage was a good size and well equipped and the smaller apartment was adequate too.

We didnt find the cottage entirely clean which was a disappointment, we had to empty the food garbage bin on the work top when we arrived as it was full and there were no new bags to use. We went to use the coffee machine and that was also full to the brim with empty pots and when trying to empty the cup overflow tray it went all over the work surface, luckily we brought kitchen roll to mop up all the coffee spillage as there was alot! The handbook was thorough, and mentioned a cake and fresh eggs which we did not receive, even the comments in the feedback book and other feedback online mentioned how great the extras were but we didn't find any which was another disappointment, especially as we had booked two apartments for the long weekend. Nice extras should be consistent for all guests. We also felt that the quilt provided on the double bed for the main room was rather small and did not cover the bed but rather just lay on the top of it, this was the same for the other apartment too.

Beautiful location in the countryside. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Needed updating

Brilliant location to visit Beamish Museum. We visited the Shepherd and Shepherdess Pub for meals and can recommend. Food portions are huge.
