The Fox & Hounds Hotel

Wasn't as bad as other places I have been too but the welcome to the hotel was poor , got rushed around and the room wasn't ready , which we didn't mind waiting for but as we got to the room was too much of a strong smell of bleach and was damp on cellings. Could have been better a bit disappointed we paid £105 for the night. I wouldn't have paid that much for that , sorry.

Such a friendly hotel with excellent food. The restaurant was full the night we went and i am glad i pre booked a table. Some of the decorcould do with updating but clean. Would stay again

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The menu was good and the food well cooked with ample portions. The bedroom was fine but the on suite was very poor standard and the shower was useless.

Due to Covid there were the obvious restrictions in place however our stay was very pleasant. My grandson called it a little gem, the location was ideal for our visit to Dartmoor, the food was very good, staff friendly and the breakfast set us up for the day.

Cannot fault a thing ! Very good food and service! Highly recommend

Room was on the front overlooking road. Due to the excessive heat the windows needed to be open, the noise from the road was +++ until late at night and early in the morning made sleeping difficult. Other than that the hotel was ok for what we wanted.

A very warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. Went out of their way to ensure I had a comfortable stay. The food in the bar/restaurant was reasonably priced and excellent quality.

Great welcome by friendly, helpful staff. Stayed in a family room, with a double and single bed. The single was a Queen size and the double was 2 Queen size, pushed together! Never had so much space in a family room. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, as we were at a wedding reception nearby, but the menu looked quite reasonable. Breakfast in the morning was definitely above average. It's so rare to find a hotel breakfast where the chef knows how to cook bacon properly 😁 We would definitely stay here again as the quality of service and comfort was exceptional value.

The facilities were of of high quality, comfortable ,clean and tidy and the staff were unfailingly welcoming and friendly and the food excellent. WE chose the Fox and Hounds for its ideal position for walking out onto the moors.We would l certainly recommend it to other walkers.
