Convenient to airport Receptionist very helpful

Old, not very clean, poorly maintained,

beds, pool, views good location

the pool was nice, the beach was nice. the garden space was nice. The staff were nice

We paid for a family room with 4 beds and a pool/garden view. We were given a room with poor air conditioning and a car park view. Then we realized that when we flushed the toilet the water came out which was quite disgusting. It just goes to show that they don't check things properly. We wanted to leave the property and then they offered us a 3 bedroom with a pool view, the AC and toilet worked. I was with my children so I had little choice and accepted it. Long story short we paid for a 4 bed room and got a 3 bed room

First Impressions Golden Star Beach Hotel isn’t budget, nor is it luxury. It’s that sweet spot of great value. Seconds from the beach, spotless grounds, a good sized pool with plenty of pool side loungers and staff everywhere ready to help, so we thought Our room was spacious, with a comfy bed and balcony. The aircon worked perfectly, the bathroom was spotless. But the TV looked like a like a big tablet and.... the “blanket” was basically tissue paper.

Day 1 – New Year’s Eve Buffet The buffet looked amazing. Until we tried it. Drinks confusion: We asked for a drinks menu. Staff gave us a lecture about the buffet menu and drinks are separate, we understood. As we only asked for the drinks menu. Cold food: Everything looked good but was served cold. Pizza patrol: Four staff guarded the pizza like bodyguards. One pizza wasn’t sliced, another wasn't sliced through and it collapsed when transferring to my plate. Lasagna mountain: Uncut, staff assisted to help with the slice. I asked for a small piece. Got a brick-sized slab. Cold, bland, shared with my girlfriend. Mystery shots: Lemon coloured drinks in tall shot glasses. Staff didn’t know what they were, so he asked his manager. After multiple trips to their managers, the staff never returned and never seen again. I drank it anyway. Verdict: plain lemon juice. Served in a tall shot glass for reasons unknown. Day 2 New Year’s Day I woke up shivering under my tissue. But, the bed was comfy. Towel saga: Asked for pool towels. 10 minutes went by… nothing. Then went to ask again .. 10 minutes went by… still nothing. Then asked again and after 45 minutes, towels arrived. Drinks menu deja vu: While sun bathing near the bar, I walked 8-10 steps to the bar and asked for the drinks menu. Staff said he'll bring it to us. 10 minutes went by… nothing. Girlfriend went to ask... 30 minutes went by… still nothing. After 30 minutes, still no drinks menu. so we decided to walk the 8–10 steps to the restaurant ourselves and ordered our drinks and snacks. Cocktail confusion: I ordered a Pina Colada, my girlfriend wanted a Fanta. Staff returned to tell us there was no Fanta and no Pina Colada. Suggested a sandwich instead. Which was weird.. Blanket drama: Reception gave us one blanket. Big enough for one person only. My girlfriend called reception. 10 minutes… nothing. Girlfriend called again..Thirty minutes… still nothing.

Das Hotel ist einfach und schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Aber es ist sauber, hat eine super Lage am Strand und zur Stadt sowie zum Flughafen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist deshalb super! Am besten als erstes Hotel nach der Ankunft auf der Insel oder vor dem Rückflug buchen!
