Rocpool Reserve Hotel

Breakfast good. Hotel very bright & clean.

Would be nice to have bath robes & PJs folded, bed made up as when checked in.

I purchased my two day break expecting to indulge my wife who is recovering from a stroke. But having paid an eye-watering £870 for two nights, you have to apparently pay even more to be ‘indulged’. At this price you only get bed, and if you are gluten free, a pretty miserable breakfast. They do have gf bread but I wasn’t offered on the first day nuts, berries or fruit; let alone gf cereal. The offered cheese omelette was small. Anyone who enjoys this establishment is clearly seeing the emperor’s clothes and has more money than sense. We stayed days ago at the luxury Intercontinental hotel in central Edinburgh and had a better room, friendlier service and a wholesome gf breakfast for half the room price. All hotels, and even B&Bs, I’ve stayed in have provided decaffeinated coffee in the room and restocked the tea and coffee each day. Even budget hotels provide this, but not at Rocpool luxury boutique hotel! I expect if we had asked, or complained, our tea and coffee would have been restocked daily but in a self-proclaimed luxury boutique hotel serving the customers’ needs should be a proactive mission. Towels were hard and did not have luxury softness. My overall conclusion is that this is primarily a money making concern with a shallow veneer of pretension. Spend your money more wisely.

We enjoyed our stay at Rocpool Reserve very much. The service was absolutely top shelf! Very nice accomodations and staff was the most attentive and helpful that we have ever come across. Our room was very clean and breakfast was excellent.

The staff showed a keen interest in serving our every need.

Staff made us feel very welcome and helped with luggage. They were very courteous and paid special attention to make us feel comfortable. The hotel was immaculate with high quality furniture and beautifully appointed rooms.

A little bit of traffic noise but wasn't too bad.

Over priced

The Rocpool Reserve is a beautiful hotel. The staff was very attentive. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Their breakfast was amazing. Although it isn’t really that far from restaurants and bars, it wasn’t real convenient or adjacent to them. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to most restaurants and bars.

The location is very central. The bed is comfortable.

The room was on a lower level so only half window and dark. Shower was so small and no where to place items for use in bathroom. I think it’s prob more like a 3 star hotel. Expensive for the experience.
