Rocpool Reserve Hotel

Staff was fantastic and hotel was very clean. Great breakfast too.

Lily was lovely and the other staff great. The bed was really comfy. Bathroom huge. bath and shower good.

No door on toilet (by design) which is fine if you're okay with that but we didn't like it.

This place was beautiful, friendly staff, delicious food and incredibly comfortable beds!

We paid more than we have ever paid to stay anywhere for my wifes 50th birthday. It was okay. We booked a room with a hot tub, which was stone cold when we arrived, this led to us having to wait for the water to be pumped out and refilled with hot water while we sat on our robes after we had waited two hours for it to heat up when told it wouldnt take long. There were a number of things that should have been better for upwards of £500 per night. No soft close toilet seat, cheap plastic toilet flush, door lock missing from bathroom door, shower screen wouldnt close, light switches that don't do anything lamps in the room all having to be turned on/off individually. Television not at the correct height to watch from the bed. No instructions for the hot tub or sauna. The bed was very large with lovely linen, duvet and pillows. The extra decadent room was quite large and had a patio, although the patio got very wet when it rained. Robes were provided and were of a good size, towels couls have been bigger and softer. Breakfast was nice and very large with multiple 'courses', coffee came out and was not filtered properly so left coffee grounds floating in our cups. Overall not worth the money - have stayed in nicer places for a third of the cost in the preceeding week on our trip around Scotland. Would expect all the extra details to be sorted for this price

No proper restaurant save for fast food. The Rocpool restaurant advertised apparently has no connection to the hotel and is a 15 min walk away - a wee bit misleading

Property is in a nice quiet area and walkable to the river and town. The facilities however need an upgrade vintage 1950’s furniture and bedding. Shower also broken and no maintenance on site for repair..

Lovely sized room with robes and a comfy bed. We also had a spa outside which we used.

There wasn’t an option to have cappuccino or flat white style coffees for breakfast which is the first time we had experienced that. The breakfast itself was lovely.

This is most definitely not a 5 star hotel. A weak 4 at best. Almost non existent service. Had to go looking for someone to order a glass of wine in the bar. We were required to schedule our breakfast earlier than desired to accommodate their staffing issues. Hardly anyone in restaurant!!! Found this odd and annoying. The room was on the small side and downstairs with no bellman to help with luggage. This is standard in a 5 star hotel!!! Overall disappointing and way too expensive for the quality of the hotel. It has potential, but they are most definitely not even close to achieving it currently
