Residence Inn by Marriott Abilene

I was charged a parking up charge of $5.54 which I didn’t understand as parking is free I thought unless it was the elevator being down as someone was stuck Friday night in it and fire department was called. No joke

The hotel was in a good location with lots of restaurants close by and had easy access to the universities and downtown.

The breakfast was a little disappointing and didn't have much variety. The bed was very firm, making it hard and uncomfortable. It had no pillow topper and I barely slept the first night, so I had to sleep on top of the bed comforter in order to have a little cushion and feel like I wasn't sleeping on a board. Also the comforter was too small and seemed like it was made for a queen bed. It barely reached the sides of the king bed, so my husband and I kept short sheeting each other all night and fighting over the bedding.

The arrangement of the king room was perfect. Breakfast was very good. The couch was very comfortable, TV in both bedroom and living room. Kitchen area very nice. Super nice and clean.

Hotels that say they are pet friendly and then charge a pet fee that is more than the room rate are really not pet friendly. This hotel charged us $100 for our 10 pound cat for all of the 8 hours we were there. These rates should be posted so decisions can e made prior to booking.

Reception and staff were friendly, courteous and very professional. Also very helpful
