Best stay experience

This is a bare minimum hotel. We went for graduation and paid A LOT, read $$$, for a room here that had basically NO amenities, ridiculous. (All the hotels in the area price gouge customers during Purdue events which is unfortunate.) They charge you $15 for a mediocre breakfast, no complimentary coffee even, you have to buy it at the Starbucks in the lounge (which is not open all day). In the room, we got a very tiny bar of soap (shampoo, conditioner and body wash in large attached bottles in shower), no lotion, nothing else. The coffee in the room was gross, see picture. The outlet next to my bed wouldn't hold in my plug so it was useless. The good...the room was clean and the bed/pillow was comfortable. Staff were also friendly. For a Marriott property and what I paid, I expected more and was disappointed. I talked to other guests and they also shared their surprise and disappointment in the lack of complimentary breakfast and at minimum, coffee/tea. Also the water dispenser in the lounge was always empty. Don't charge your customers an arm and leg and not give them a boiled egg. I'll look for other options next time I'm in town.

I'm a big fan of the Courtyard by Marriott franchise and book their hotels very often across the US. They are reliable, clean and consistently offer a good service. Unfortunately, the story at Courtyard Lafayette is completely different. This is a filthy hotel across the board. The rooms are not properly cleaned, bathroom with toilet paper in toilet from previous guests, hallways with items left by other guests for two days, restaurant tables not cleaned up after removing the items from previous customers, the men's room downstair was really filthy. Personnel with a "I don't give a s..." attitude. It took them three trips to get us a full set of blanket, sheets and pillow for the sofa bed. Then the sofa bed had a really filthy mattress cover. Restaurant closes breakfast at 9:45 am. The operator of this hotel should take a close look and make drastic changes soon, otherwise it will continue downhill until...

For a hotel, okay. For a Marriott, below average.
