"Now charge parking fee"

4.0

We got a park sleep and fly package and this time we were disappointed. The rooms are a little tired and we found things not working properly and we didn’t know that they now charge you $9.00 to park you car overnight before your flight if you don’t want to go across the street and park in airline parking. That is just a shame and will definitely make me check another place to stay before our flights. Another place getting everything they can from us. Still many in the area don’t charge us a parking fee but check before you book a hotel.

This property is not up to Marriott’s general standards. The tv was broken in our 1st room so the front desk staff moved us to a room on the third floor. I was stuck in an unmoving elevator twice. The staff told me that she would “reset” the elevator. This was a disappointing experience.

Front desk assistant “Amy Jo” was rude and needs additional customer service training. As the line to check in got longer, she avoided looking or speaking to any of us waiting. She spent 15 minutes trying to look up a parking discount for someone checking it only to find out eventually that it didn’t exist. I have no problem be patient when a situation might take longer than expected but when I asked if anyone else might be free to assist, she gave me a very pissed off look and said abruptly “no”.

"Beginning and ending a trip"

8.0

We stayed 2 separate nights within 5 days. We picked the same room type, but we did end up with slightly different rooms--the first one was a regular 2-queen studio and the second one was an accessible 2-queen studio. The difference was the bathroom space and lack of a wall in the accessible suite. (Accessible room was slightly bigger too, I think.) I didn't realize it until we got there, but the sofa bed is a trundle under a couch that converts to a daybed. That worked out well for us, which is why we decided to come back the second night. The thing I didn't like about the rooms was the bathroom set-up. In the regular room, the shower and vanity are in a space and the toilet is in a separate space with a tiny corner sink. These both have opaque sliding doors, so although they are not see-through, they do not block out the light. In the accessible room, a tub was with the toilet behind the same type of sliding door, and the sink was in a separate space with no door. We had breakfast one morning and used the shuttle one morning. Both of these experiences were good. The second night, I had a car, but no one asked me about that, so I ended up with a slip of paper on my window the next morning saying I should have paid. I thought I had seen free parking on the listing, but that could have been a different listing, since I looked at so many. Overall, I was satisfied with my stays.

"Great hotel and staff in Detroit"

10.0

Once again a great hotel stay at the Springhill Suites. 2 time in 6 months staying here. I just wanted to say right from the checkin again this hotel staff is what makes the difference. The 2 young woman that checked me in were the same ones that took such good care of me last time RENATA, greeted me the second I came thru the door, same thing from LUZ , they made me feel like they were happy to see me return. The staff at this hotel is second to none.?which is why I’ve made this my home away from home. In fact I will be back on May 20 for a few more days. From the checkin and the breakfasts I can’t say enough good things about the hotel, I don’t know the girls name that was at the desk overnight(I left at 3 am) but she was great to, hooked me up with the shuttle to the airport and made sure I was on time so I didn’t miss my flight. I look forward to returning in May

"Terrible!"

1.0

It was across from Airline parking.

The air/heat unit made noise all night, couldn’t turn off the light over the fridge had to call the front desk girl & she came down and had to pull the fridge out to unplug it. The coffee maker water reservoir was filled with coffee grounds so couldn’t use the coffee pot.
