Le Cameleon Puerto Viejo

When one pays over $300 per night for a luxury resort, one expects a luxury resort, not a run-down, basic hotel and undesirable grounds. The grounds were unkept with lots of overgrowth, muddy pathways, and where there was grass, it needed cutting. The pools had many missing tiles. The social areas around the pools were unkept and muddy. While the Happiness Team is very enthusiastic and attentive, they cannot make up for the fact that this is a very, very, tired, run-down property. It needs massive investment to bring it to to its advertised standards.

For the standard in the area it is still a top choice…the two pools are the best…food more less than more…deluxe rooms are ok but you can see there are some urgent repairs… staff is quite friendly but pool/room service is too slow, we ordered two drinks and it took almost two hours to deliver… and for this recent visit what I think it and what was out of place was that they gave us the room 30 minutes after the check-in time

Nice pool

We had a wonderful 7 night stay at Le Cameleon with our 5-year-old twin daughters. We received a room upgrade due to our Expedia status, it was ready upon arrival, we also received a nice surprise in our room. We had been at the hotel last before the pandemic, and the improvements and expansion to the hotel are extraordinary, the beach club and the restaurant steps away from the beach, make it almost impossible to leave the hotel. The staff was great as well: Hector, Nixon, Milena, Heidi, Yendry, Ronald, Alma, Alejandra, Daniel, David, Noemi, Kevner and Jessica, all of them made us feel at home. We will definitely return next year!

Great customer service and great food

Great property. Truly a green experience. Good modern installations surrounded by a tropical forest. Staff was friendly and helpful. The plumbing and A/C were faulty but overall, very good installations.

Was Excellent, and stil good but needs an upgrade. the climate of the southern Caribbean cause facilities to age fast.

Price of hotel does not match service or property. Perhaps it is because it seems to be the only somewhat larger hotel in the area, but it is very pricey and the service and actual rooms do not match the price that one is paying for.
