Great hotel with history and athmosphere

This is an older hotel that has its own sole. What it does not have is money to bring it up-to-date. It feels like someone inherited this hotel and now is draining it without spending a penny to maintain it. It win't last ling. It is a shame for this premium property in the center of town to go down like this. What I hated the most was the shower in the bathtub without a curtain. I had to sit in the bath and splash water on myself while tub did not even drain fast enough. What I enjoyed was the size of the room. It was definitely plenty of space to comfortably walk around the luggage and not bump into each other.

I expected an older kind of place, and wasn't surprised by that. I was, however, surprised by the fact that the room had no curtains I could close at night. I don't mean they were poor... I mean they didn't exist. So, the street-light shone into my room all night. And, the breakfast was ultra-minimal, even by France/Chamonix standards (I stayed at another, comparably-priced hotel the following two nights). If this hotel is available at a price significantly below others, then OK. But otherwise, there are newer, nicer, better-provisioned options available.

Fantastic location. Rude concierge. Old rooms. Great view of Mt.Blanc. Adequate breakfast. Cool claw foot bath tub and generally very quiet.

In the heart of Chamonix, by the pedestrian high street and right next to the ski bus stop at the back of the hotel. Made our long weekend skiing really easy. Hotel is faded, hence the 2* rating, but our room was spacious and clean. We'll definitely be going back.

I stayed here as a solo traveller for 6 nights in March 18. Although I had booked a single room I was given a twin which was FAB. It was great being able to soak in the bath after a hard day's skiing! The room was well-appointed, clean and very quiet - I was happy to spend time in it. The breakfast buffet was very good. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, approachable and helpful. There is a ski room downstairs to store your skis securely and your boots. The back door of the hotel opens out onto the Chamonix Centre bus stops so you have direct access to the buses which take you to all the resorts. It was really easy to get about. Although the hotel is very centrally located, it was very quiet. I arrived by bus and it is approx 10 min walk (or 15 with luggage) from the main bus station, so really easy to find. I really recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again

Good hotel. Full of character with large spacious room and en suite. Friendly helpful staff and best location for everything. Can’t fault it. Maybe not everybody’s taste but the decor and styling added to its appeal.

Very efficient and relaxed breakfast service. Si convenient for bus access and town centre shopping, dining, amenities on doorstep.
