"World Class 5 star hotel in Islita"

10.0

This was one of the finest hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff were amazing - service A+, the views so breathtaking we did not want to leave after 4 luxurious, relaxing days in a beautiful villa with incredible views, superb activities (we witnessed a sea turtle laying its eggs on a storm on a remote beach one evening, macaw wildlife reserve, kayaking down Ora River to the ocean.. ) . The restaurant food was first rate and the prices were exceptionally reasonable considering the remoteness of the resort. We would return in an instant. A must for the bucket list. We even had a band of howler monkeys visit our villa backyard one evening as we swam in our own lap pool.. the hotel pool (next to the restaurant - has to be seen to be believed... the views.... GO GO GO ...

"Remote Eco-Paradise !"

10.0

If you're an eco-conscious kinda person you'll truly appreciate this gem . Nestled in the remoteness of Costa Rica's far reaches , Hotel Punta Islita was perfect for a week of rest and relaxation.. We were greeted by Luis , our personal concierge who was beyond helpful and very friendly..The whole staff was really professional and friendly.. We zip-lined through the dry forest (it was their dry season) with Eduardo and that was an experience we won't soon forget ! The restaurant was really nice , with infinity pool/Pacific Ocean views and really good food.. Just down the mountain was a restaurant called Kmbute which I highly recommend for some home cooked Costa Rican cuisine(Really inexpensive and delicious!) The beach was a bit of a hike but if you don't want to walk, they will gladly transport you there(2min drive) for free! Overall, there are many more good things I can say about Hotel Punta Islita , but I'd be giving away a bit of the mystique and that's what made it a truly amazing experience! Go for it .. book it ..you will thank yourself later !

"Everything you never knew you wanted...and more."

10.0

Go to Punta Islita immediately. It has, hands down, the best views, service, and general atmosphere of anywhere you will ever go. Fly into Liberia -- it's the difference between a 2 hour drive and a 4.5 hour one. I'd recommend shuttle service, as the roads are sometimes hard to maneuver. You can contact the hotel online to reserve this. Be prepared to have an entire beach and pool basically to yourself, while some of the nicest people you've ever met will give you a towel, drinks, food -- anything you need. This beach is a bit rocky in parts, but there is a white sand beach in the town next to it. If Antonio is at the beach bar, order an Antonio special. Best drink ever, made from this liquor you can only get in Costa Rica. Eat octopus ceviche, fish, mango anything, and pork. Drink the coffee. You will be IN nature while ziplining, horseback riding, surfing, or kayaking. You will see stunning views, monkeys, colorful birds (check out the macaw preserve while you're there), mountains, beaches...we even saw a deer in our bungalow. Just sitting in the grass. As far as rooms go, say hello to your own private bungalow, complete with hammock and ocean/mountain views, luxurious comfortable beds, and strong air-conditioning. Last but not least, Marvin is wonderful. He will greet you at the front and anticipate your every need before you knew you needed it. If you have any issues (unlikely), he will remedy them.

It isn't easy getting there, but it's worth it. Quiet and beautiful, with service that's impeccable. If you're looking to relax in a romantic atmosphere, this is the place. The staff are superb, and they go out of their way to make your visit whatever you would like it to be.

"Very secluded, Very difficult to get to"

8.0

Staff were wonderful. Top notch hotel. Private beach Road to hotel is not paved requiring 4 wheel drive for at least 13 miles. Difficult to leave hotel to explore area. 4 hour drive from Arenal and 4 hour drive to San Jose. Food at hotel very good for Costa Rica.

"Relaxing and Remote"

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is more of separate villas nestled into the hillside overlooking the ocean, and it's very private and secluded. We went in November which is the off season, so there were not many guests. We enjoyed being able to have the place almost to ourselves. We used the spa for massages and did 2 excursions- horse back riding at sunset and watching sea turtles lay eggs. The food was very good in the restaurant and there is a local restaurant within a short walk for dinner as well. Our room was stunning and had a private dipping pool. the service was great too- they have vans to drive guests around if you don't want to walk and will help you set up excursions or anything else you need.

Hotel Punta Islita was not easy to get to with a 3 hour drive and bumpy roads but every minute of that drive was worth it. It was paradise. The staff are friendly and the room was private with breath taking views A++++++++++++++++++++

"Disappointing"

6.0

Fantastic location, very nice restaurant and bar area, but very disappointing rooms: small and very basic, not worth a two star hotel. The price is high for the type of accommodation.
