Service was perfect!

We got a nice deal for out rooms. The facilites are not the newest or most flashy, but the service is unparalleled. The rooms have great views and private outdoor Jacuzzis and hammocks with an awesome view. Recommended

Hotel is great. Good prices and wonderful staff. Everything is onsite. Zip lining is very cool - you hike a little ways up and then zip line right back to the hotel. Horseback riding is a real trail, long, up and down a mountain. Everyone is very patient and tries to teach you to speak Spanish. Excellent food Only downside, is you are completely stuck there. There is nothing outside the hotel and you are a ways away from the next town over. You are relegated to doing only what the hotel has to offer. Hard to get to also. You either fly into a small local airstrip by taking a connection from San Jose, in which case you won't have a car and you're stranded there with no way of doing anything outside the resort. OR...you fly into Liberia, rent a car - the drive is long, I mean 3 hours long and you have to drive on dirt roads, no highways, and the drive is too dangerous to do at nighttime. Would recommend but just keep in mind the trip there takes up additional time driving.

Great place in a beautiful setting. Spectacular view and lots of wildlife. Food and staff wonderful. Could not get hot water while showering during peak times but a very small inconvenience when compared to all of the positive experiences. Don't recommend rental cars , as the driving is torturous.

Amazing experience - stayed for one night as a treat during our 2 week cycling tour. Best decision we made. By far the highlight were the staff, welcoming, interesting, knowledgable & couldn't do more to make the stay. Marvin in particular was outstanding. The view and setting is spectacular with the infinity pool as the cherry on top. Rooms are comfortable, like sleeping on clouds, and the food... Yum! Try the tuna down at the beach club.. Just trust me! We didn't have dinner at the hotel as it was thanksgiving.. Instead we went to the local place in the village which was also great. I dream of coming back...

Be prepared to be enchanted! The rough road leads to an amazing hotel with even more amazing people. This was a family vacation with our two older teenage children. From the beginning until the end, it was a vacation of a lifetime. We were greeted in the parking lot by a friendly face who turned out to be our concierge - this was a wonderful surprise! After our long journey, he recognized that we were hungry, and so he escorted us to the restaurant for a relaxing lunch and complimentary drink - oh, by the way, he checked us in as we gazed over the beautiful ocean view. The next trip was to our 3 bedroom villa that I can only say was amazing. The kids wondered if we had become rock stars since we left the States... yes, it was that amazing. The 1st night we thought we heard a gorilla... turned out to be a howler monkey - a veryLOUD howler monkey. By the end of our 1st day, our teenage son declared that he would have to stop saying everything was amazing because, well, everything was amazing! Our trip was filled with encounters with a truly caring and courteous hotel staff, first class food and accommodations, views to die for, wildlife sights and sounds from National Geographic, and did I mention the amazing people? We would return to Punta Islita in a heartbeat, and we actually discussed the need to start playing the lottery with the hope of returning to beautiful Costa Rica sooner vs. later. It is truly PURA VIDA!

Overall, we had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and the rooms were very nice.

Everything about this place is impeccable. The views put most postcards to shame. The service is superb. This place is heaven on earth.

Hotel Punta Islita is gorgeous! It took us just over 2 hours to get to the hotel from Liberia airport. The driver was very accommodating, stopping for us to use a bathroom and shop for a few snacks and things to have in our room. The driver also stopped to point out monkeys, a crocodile and birds along the way. Even though Punta Islita is out of the way and secluded, the site is incredibly beautiful and well worth the 2 hour drive. Service was fantastic and the food was terrific. The resort was completely full during our stay and yet we never felt the hotel was crowded. The entire staff seemed eager to make personal connections with each of us which made our stay extra special. The deluxe room was a bit tight for our family of three, but doable. The beds were very comfortable. The room was kept very clean and housekeeping paid attention to details. My cousin's family of four stayed in a villa with a plunge pool and full kitchen which was more than enough space for them. The stairs leading to and from most rooms in the resort would be a challenge for those with any physical issues. However, there are shuttles that will take you just about anywhere you'd like to go. The beach was amazing!!! Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet because of some rocks and the scorching hot sand on the way to the water. The waves were perfect; the water was crystal clear and refreshing. We hated to leave! We will definitely return to this hotel!
