Westgate Winchester

Very lovely hotel. Our Bedroom nicely decorated and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Service was good. We parked down the road easily £15 for 24hours which was Less than 5 min walk. Hotel is right at the top of town/high Street. Good location. Only took a couple of quick photos.

Easy check in and friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. No complaints.

I thought I’d booked b&b but no breakfast offered. Love the unevenness of the hotel. Felt very welcome by the staff. Hotel room tidy and clean. Nice city break and hotel perfect location for town

A superb location at the top of town. A quirky old building with a lot of character. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Water, tea and coffee provided of quality. Very quiet.

We had a lovely stay at The Westgate. The room was spacious and comfortable and easily big enough for my husband and I and my daughter to share. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food in the pub/restaurant was delicious - they even cooked my daughter a special child’s portion of fish and chips which made her day. Just 2 things to note. There is no parking and the pay and display that is recommended costs £15 a day. It would be useful to know this in advance. Also I understand it isn’t possible to offer a hit breakfast at the moment but it would be really nice if there was an continental option of cereals etc, so we didn’t have to got out to breakfast everyday. These are minor points and certainly didn’t spoil what was a wonderful stay

Disapointing

Quite noisy as is located on a busy street so if you are a light sleeper you will struggle. If you must stay in the centre of Winchester then an ok option. There are more peaceful and comfortable options if you are able to look further out.

Great location with so much history on the doorstep, or a short walk away, with a 12century gatehouse a few yards away, which the pub gets it's name from. There is no on-site parking but there is a multi-storey close by, and the railway station is a short walk, if arriving by rail.

It was awful for the following reasons: 1) went to the bar for drinks and dinner and had the most unpleasant experience with the staff. They advertise offers but refuse to honour them and when I complained about it, they became defensive and aggressive. 2) house keeping doesn’t make your bed for you which is extremely annoying and I expect better when I pay £100 a night 3) there is the constant noise of traffic given that the rooms only have single glazed windows. The hotel gives you ear plugs but I found them even more uncomfortable than the noise 4) all flooring above ground floor is wonky. My door had an 8 inch gap so light and noises from the corridor were flooding in
