"Nice but expensive"

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on our tour of the Outer Hebrides with GB Tours. I emailed the hotel to enquire about upgrading our room from a standard double to a superior room as a birthday treat. I was a bit shocked to be quoted £131 per night to upgrade, I emailed back to check that this was correct as the difference in price on the website was only £20 per night. The hotel then reduced this to £100 per night. I presume this was because GB Tours pay a much reduced price which explained the quality of the rooms throughout the tour. Unfortunately the hotel seemed to forget that I had upgraded as there was no bottled water in the room that was included in the spec for all the rooms but not for GB Tour guests. The bath robes and slippers turned out to be very expensive treat. The room was very nice and comfortable with a nice bed and was the best room that we had on the tour with nice toiletries including body lotion. None of the hotels on the tour had the usual shower hat etc, just soap and shampoo. The coffee machine which took capsules like flying saucers also acted as a kettle dispensing hot water. The local biscuits were delicious. Breakfast and dinner were very nice. Dinner on the first night was just soup and sandwiches due to a late ferry crossing. I would stop here again if I was return to the islands.

"An exceptional meal"

We didn't stay at the Cabarfeidh hotel but ate there three times in the week we were on Lewis. The whole experience was exceptional, from being greeted at reception to the service from each server. The food was beautifully presented and tasted truly amazing, particularly the fish and chips. My husband is gluten free and commented they were the best he had ever had. The selection for gluten free was the best we had all holiday and all staff looked after our dog Skye with treats and water. Well done guys what an amazing team.

Stay here quite often . Super hotel , the very best . Excellent staff in each department . Customer service second to none . Attention to detail the very best , five star. Can' t get back till next year , very sad.
