Trentham Motel

Made very welcome on arrival and directed to our unit. The unit appeared to be recently refurbished and clean. The beds were very comfortable and coming from the Hawkes Bay to a very cold day in Upper Hutt, we were delighted to find electric blankets on the beds. Had trouble getting the stovetop to work and the Proprietor came to our assistance the moment we requested help. Unit has been finished to an excellent standard and I would definitely stay at this motel again. Highly Recommended.

Very well maintained, very clean. Surprisingly quiet considering we had the front unit on the main road. Would recommend happily.

Toilet Roll wet.... Pillow cases dirty.. In houses cleaning wasnt very good, only made half the beds.. Had everything you needed though.

Was a good location for us between the city and family. Felt a bit cramped with 2 extra single beds in the living area, no eating area had to sit on bed next to kitchen bench. But overall ok as an in and out/sleep at night place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Reception was very polite and personable, very private and titalky welcomung. Definately recommend to anyone wanting a couples retreat away.

We stayed in Upper Hutt out of necessity as Wellington was booked out for the Elton John concert. However, it was a pleasant drive to the motel from Wellington city and the motel was easy to find. One piece of advice, turn off at the Silverstream exit from the highway, instead of going to the Upper Hutt exit. You'll shave alot of time off the trip as the motel is on the main road anyway. At the motel, the gent was very welcoming and there was an adorable dog there. Plenty of parking, and close to the service station which would be great for beginning an excursion out. Once in the room, the decor whilst dated, was very comfortable. The free wifi was a plus, and made planning our trip easier. The shower was wonderful - amazing pressure and gas heated, so very hot. One small note, and more for the landlord: I forgot to mention upon checkout that under the fridge, it was leaking slightly. Pros: Close to the main highway 2 - easy to find. Pros: Great shower Pros: Free wifi Cons: Slightly dated decor, but thats neither here nor there.

Found outside noises unpleasant, such as a motorbike revving for over an hour. Also sky light in second bedroom means room 'light' all night
