The Plough

A very warm welcome from the member of staff. Looked after our luggage until check in. Clear instructions regarding entering and exiting the hotel. Our room was a good size. It was clean and comfortable.

Our bathroom extractor fan continued running for a long time after switching the light off. An air conditioning unit, outside our room, operated noisily, on and off the entire time. Torturous. It was difficult to get to sleep and stay asleep. I did try earplugs but they were ineffective.

Loved everything about our stay - food, accommodation and lovely staff.

Convenient for the places we wanted to visit and for good restaurants. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to be of help.

Small things - bulbs that needed replacing and a noisy fan outside one of the rooms we stayed in.

Location

Access - extremely narrow to carpark (no warning), lack of staff competency - twice declined service at the bar as server was under age to serve, premises grubby, dogs in the dining area

The room was nice, good towels, clean, comfortable bed, the bathroom was fine

The room was far too hot and no way to cool it down (no windows could be open and no fan). There was noisy fan unit outside/next to the room that was on and off all night keeping us awake. The appeared to be only one member of staff on, who was friendly but wasn’t around when we sat in the bar for service for around 10 minutes.
