La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Broussard - Lafayette Area

When we arrived, after already doing Pre-check-in on my phone on the way, I had to stand there for about 20 minutes till the employee got off the phone to check us in. Then I was told our room was not available. The hotel had over booked and they had no double bed rooms available. She offered us a single king room for the 4 of us like that would be even closely acceptable, not! After several phone calls and going back and forth with her for another 30 minutes, she gave us another person's double bed room that had not checked in yet. I do not know what happened when that person showed up. Also during the breakfast the next morning, there were bugs in the cereal dispenser.

I checked in but was marked as a NoShow then was charged twice for my stay. The staff said it ‘might’ fall of in 5-7 business days. Asked to speak to property manager, was told she would Call me when she came in. 3 days later and I still Have not heard from her. Main office said the location had to take care of it, location said bank had to take care of it. Bank said main office has to take care of it. All I know is I’m out 300 more than I should be.

This was one of my best stays! Was considering staying somewhere else but not anymore. Had a relaxing and satisfying time at la quinta.

Large grassy dog area. Simple breakfast down stairs. Easy parking. Quiet area and quiet rooms.

Pool was kinda gross. Looks like it just needed a touch up. Super cloudy and just very unwelcoming Rooms stayed a bit warm at night

If you need more, Waffle House is only a few steps away. Room & Amenities: My King Room was clean, featuring modern furniture and all the essentials you’d expect, including a TV, coffee maker, fridge, iron, and toiletries. Breakfast was included, though simple, and while the essentials were there, extras like bottled water or spare blankets would have been nice. Staff & Service: Check-in was quick, staff were pleasant, and service matched the straightforward nature of the property. Location & Surroundings: Think “airport hotel” energy—functional but not a destination in itself. Restaurants and shops are conveniently located. Value for Money: Comfort-wise, the hotel delivers. Price-wise, it feels slightly high. A nightly rate of $70–$85 would better reflect the offering, but the mattress alone might convince some guests to pay more. Recommendations Final Word: A three-star hotel with a five-star mattress—come here to sleep well, not to be wowed.
