Hampton Inn Wilson Downtown

Location to employer. 4 mins from work.

It was very hot in the building, entry way and halls. Rooms air was working. Ice maker on 4th floor did not work. Wanted to call front desk and phone didn't work so I had to ride the elevator stopping at each floor to find an ice maker that worked.

The property is old and had an old spell with a hint of mildew. Staff were excellent. We needed an accessible room and they made the change with no problem and on the last day offered to hunt down a luggage cart for us.

Property was very clean an easily accessible to the highway. The AC in my room, however was very loud that made it hard to sleep.

Great place for a night. I had issues at a nasty airbnb and left early. Room was very clean. Staff was very nice with good recommendations.

The staff made the stay memorable because they were so helpful and friendly.

Upon walking into my room, the first thing I noticed was that the tile floor in the entry was sticky on my shoes. Not just one spot, but the entire thing. Bathroom too. Making a peeling noise with every step I took. I then noticed that the bed linens were disturbed, as if someone had sat on the bed or leaned on the bed after it was made. This made me wonder if the room had been properly cleaned. Later, my colleagues told me that their floor was sticky as well. The carpet also felt like it had a coating on it, and left residue on my feet. The next morning, after I showered, I didn't want to walk on the floor so I used the bathmat to shuffle to my suitcase and retrieve my slippers. Turned over the bathmat that had traveled about 5 feet on the floor, and it was black filthy from the tiles. Clearly the floors aren't attended to. This makes one wonder what else isn't attended to. The desk chair was bent and couldn't be used safely. It's shocking to me that this hotel has the high rating it does. I wanted to provide the above feedback to Hilton directly, but interestingly of the 4 Hilton properties I've stayed in this week, this hotel is the only one that didn't send a survey.
