The New Inn - Kidmore End

A genuine place, a warm reception.

Das Zimmer und das Bad waren nicht geputzt; überall lag Staub, die Möbel waren klebrig und der Teppich war mit Flecken übersät. Auf der eigentlich schönen Außenterasse lag das Laub des letzten Jahres und die Holzmöbel waren aufgrund von Moos und Vogeldreck nicht nutzbar. Das Bett war durchgelegen. Wir haben nach einer Nacht den Aufenthalt abgebrochen. Der Besitzer war bereits auf der Suche nach einem neuen Pächter. Essen wurde nur sehr eingeschränkt angeboten. Die gute Bewertung auf Booking-com passt nicht zur Realtität.

great place with lovely staff. Do get the impression that this is looking for an update and new owners but its still well worth considering. Kitchen is not open all week but the staff suggested she could rustle something up. Felt sorry for her as she looked like she was literally doing everything both front and back of house

Difficult to review The New Inn and be absolutely fair. The pub is nice, and the two young ladies we dealt with were really pleasant and helpful. The evening meal was good value. The property, on the other hand, left much to be desired. Our room was really dirty, stains on the carpet, cobwebs, and thick with dust on the headboard. There was a patio area with our room, covered in last autumn’s leaves (we stayed 2nd August), and in the beer garden the tables and benches looked way past their best, a couple broken beyond use. We thought that perhaps many years ago, it was probably really nice, but now it is desperately in need of maintenance and proper cleaning. We stayed one night for an event at Stonor Park the next day, but we wouldn’t have wanted to think we had to stay a second night. I paid £90 for the room only, which I consider very poor value indeed.
