The staff was lovely and the breakfast was good. A lot of plugs so we could charge everything.

The room was a bit small for 3, the heating was not on most of the time so we were a bit cold and the duvet is not big enough for 2. There was not enough accessible storage in our room.

Location, easy access to town

Small room(not too bad however) small shared shower, my room was close to lobby and dining, so not the quietest

Scottish music at night & information on Edinburgh delivered by the owner was a lovely touch. Owner & very attentive staff all wearing kilts a nice touch. Historic house with period detail, comfortable rooms, albeit a bit dated. Located close to public transport & local restaurants. Union Canal start point around the back. Nice area.

Lack of toiletries - just 2 small cakes of soap, no shampoo etc. No hot breakfast option - continental only offered, instant coffee etc. Bedding could do with an update, and rooms could also - wardrobe doors wouldn't close.
