Fern Grotto Inn

The room and location were excellent! It made our visit to Kauai even more awesome! There were a ton of amenities to utilize.

No real complaints. A bit noisy due to the upstairs, but that is because of the thin floors.

If you don’t want to pay the high prices for a resort this was an excellent choice. We had 5 days on the island . Being close to the hotel was not our goal. We got up and out exploring each day. Back to shower for dinner at one of the multiple restaurants within 5 minutes away. The beach once you locate is also 5 minutes away. Perfect choice for us

Beautiful and peaceful cottage on the river and 5 minutes from the beach. Very comfortable bed and woke up to a palm tree breeze every morning along with a rooster reminding us it was time to get up 😊

Location and staff were excellent. They experienced some unexpected weather the week before our arrival but made unbelievable progress to get things back up and running. Little details in Coco B were very thoughtful like fresh flowers everywhere. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept on in any hotel/inn/B&B style environment.

Kauai is a very humid environment and it was difficult to get anything to dry. Not sure there is anything to be done about that but if there are local tips, it would be great to share them with guests. Otherwise, while it is no issue to go a week without housekeeping when you're staying in a more home style environment, it would be good to have a proactive way to remove damp towels that add up.

Chocolates and beverages and flowers . Washer and Dryer facilities were nice.

The Ohana house was extremely clean and well stocked. It had a large kitchen and outdoor grill . The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We took advantage of the kayaks, chairs and ice chests.

Traffic noise.

Lovely, and very well equipped cottage so you can prepare your own meals etc. Was also great to have bikes and kayaks, and BBQs to use. Close to airport and Kapaa town.

Current bridge construction works nearby (on main highway) could be noisy at times.

This was the perfect place for our stay!! We absolutely loved the River cottage and highly recommend it to couples. It’s renovated, with all the amenities, and a built in alarm clock (roosters lol) Fern Grotto Inn was a beautiful place and will forever be a special place for us.

The room was comfortable and private. Very clean and convenient to nearby activities and restaurants.

The property and suite were beautifully kept. We loved that they had bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling equipment which we used at the river which was right next to us and at the beach across the street. The bike path nearby was amazing views over the ocean. As everywhere in Kauai there are roosters so bring earplugs because they start early.
