The Old Well Inn

The location

I was staying there to take part in a local parkrun which started at 9.00 I was notified Breakfast which was included in the cost was started at 8.30am. I did ask if any possibility of a light breakfast just toast and cereal earlier but the best they could do was 8.20am I wasn't happy with this and in the end didn't bother. The room was old fashioned carpet especially the one on the stairs grubby. Bathroom round the pipes area a bit grubby. Shower wasn't that hot All in all it was not good value for money

Basically get what you pay for, bedroom very large, solid furniture, all very clean but could do with some TLC re decorating. Breakfast - good choice. Can’t really fault it for the price

Could have done with some radiators working in the bedroom first thing in the morning but there was a portable heater

Brilliant location in town. Fantastic staff.. Old and quirky! Building. I found the bed uncomfortable for me. But otherwise a great stay and lovely breakfast.

The bed was too hard and pillow uncomfortable.

Great location amongst the antique shops in Barnard Castle. Traditional pub with quirky rooms, we were given the top room with nice views over the rooftops. Clean and fresh with all the usual accompaniments. Staff helpful and friendly. It is an old building with some steepish stairs and low beams which is charming and to be expected! Plenty of free on street parking close by and a very short walk down to the lovely riverside walks. Good breakfast provided, standard fare well prepared, no issues there. Overall a pleasant stay and would book again with no hesitation.

Double room was amazing, quirky but had all mod cons, fab location just off the main street. Lovely beer garden at the rear

It's not double glazing so you do hear all passing traffic
