"Very good actually but with a few improvements could be perfect."

8.0

We stayed in the amethyst room for reference for this review. Overall we would recommend staying here as the staff were lovely, the breakfast was nice but not amazing either and the room was nice. The bed was comfy and the addition of water available any time was appreciated. Downsides were the room which was nice but had nowhere to hang any clothes really, water pressure was bad and also with the room we had there was quite a bit of road noise in the morning. The location is great and parking is perfect too. We really liked St Augustine overall and this place helped make that.

"Stunning property with exceptional service and wonderful breakfast!"

10.0

Wow! What a find! This B&B was better than any five star hotel, from our arrival, welcome glass of wine, beautiful room in the gorgeous house across the street, welcome cookies, complimentary teas(wide selection), coffee and complimentary wine with sherry in the room also. Christina was exceptionally helpful and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was fabulous and as we are vegan we didn’t expect much but lo and behold they had vegan scrambled eggs, vegan bacon and French toast for us on day one and an unreal vegan frittata on day 2! The bed was so comfy, bathroom large and perfect with walk in shower and we loved every second of our time in Sy Augustine. We had looked at several hotels but so happy that we chose this beautiful property! Thank you Cindy and Christina for a wonderful stay!

"Old world charm"

8.0

Old world charm with excellent breakfasts. Location great for exploring the historic town and staff very helpful. On the corner of a busy intersection and while i loved sitting on the upper porch did not enjoy the noisy traffic below. Rooms are small but nicely done and very typical of an old time B&B. Would suggest that many of the pillows and cutesy knick knacks could be reduce to make space for traveller's stuff. Also a bit on the expensive side but location, location.....

"Friendly Staff but Very Poor Quality Rooms and Breakfast"

4.0

My room was not as well furnished as in the photos on their site- it had no bath tub (They've corrected this on their site). After the first night, I suggested that they offer me a discount to make amends. Instead they moved me to a larger room with a bath tub. This room had one of the worst beds I've come across in my travels. The cheap foam mattress left me with such a backache that I soon stopped sleeping on it (I stayed for 5 nights). Most of the furniture showed a lack of investment or care for quality. Basic things like a chest of drawers were missing. The breakfast they served proved meager and poor in quality. Don't book here thinking there will be a wide selection of excellent pastries or fruit. Breakfast consisted of 2 small courses, each an original recipe invented by someone with little skill. This B&B seems eager to cut as many corners as possible. The staff could not have been friendlier but lacked to resources (and perhaps the skill) needed for this small hotel to live up to the hype.

"First time in a B&B, WOW!"

10.0

First time in a B&B and the Carriage Way Inn exceeded our expectations. From free parking behind the inn, to checking in, being shown the room, the amenities, it was spectacular. We had the Tourmaline Room, 2nd flood, right off the top porch and it was great. My wife loved it. The free water, soda, coffee, tea through the day was outstanding. The breakfast was amazing as well. Oh, and the location, you can't beat it. Two-minute walk to Columbia restaurant and in the heart of the old city. We are now spoiled and likely will only stay here when we visit St. Augustine again.

"Cozy B & B"

8.0

This is a very nice bed-and-breakfast. Very cozy. We had the Aqua Marine room for a B&B. It was spacious. The bathroom was a bit tight but manageable. The only downside here was the breakfast. It was pretty weak. They put cookies out in the afternoon that was really good. I definitely recommend staying here but go elsewhere for breakfast.

"Great time at Carriage Way Inn"

10.0

All of the wonderful reviews you read on Trip Advisor about the Carriage Way Inn Bed & Breakfast in St. Augustine, Florida are TRUE. Our group of six stayed in three rooms over the weekend when Nights of Lights started this year. The General Manager, Sandy, was very helpful with making reservations weeks in advance to helping us during our entire stay. And the staff including Christine, Cindy, Merilynn, Eva and Ari treated us like family both on the phone when planning our trip before we arrived and also during our stay. The Inn is a beautiful historic building from the 1880's, with completely updated rooms. The location is perfect, just two blocks off St. George Street in the historic district so you can easily walk to everything. The daily breakfast is delicious (savory one day, sweet the next). Lots of free beverages in the lounge to take to your room. The reserved parking space for each room is a real plus. The rooms are reasonably priced for the historic district. If you travel to Saint Augustine, you really should stay here!

"Beautiful Inn in Historic St. Augustine"

10.0

This was a beautiful bed-n-breakfast! Clean, comfortable, charming rooms and sitting area; friendly staff; delicious breakfast; and lots of things included in the price (wine, sherry in the rooms, sweet treats, coffee, and tea). I would highly recommend Carriage Way Inn!

My wife and I loved staying at Carriage way inn! It’s such a lovely property and the staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good. It’s a 3 minute walk to the downtown historic area and maybe a 5 minute walk to the fort.
