What an absolute gem of a place! Staff, room, breakfast all exceptional. The garden was so beautiful and during the heatwave was just heaven for me and my dog. Location was fantastic and I loved hearing the steam trains from the garden. Beach and beautiful park and lake only 5 minutes away. Just can’t rate this hotel high enough. Will definitely return.

The location was fab, quiet yet central to promenade, local beach 5 mins away Brixham and Torquay 15 mins drive, although there is a local bus to both. The hotel was welcoming and friendly, room lovely and clean, good size. The garden was an added extra that we used often in the evenings.

Nothing really, would maybe choose a room looking out onto the garden next time re a better view.

The single bedroom was tiny, not even enough room to open a suitcase. The bathroom was dark and miniscule. The shower pressure was too low and the shower was annoying to use. The bedding felt damp.

Breakfast was fantastic. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. The room was very pretty and very clean.

The owners were exceptionally kind and helpful. The fresh fruit salad at breakfast every morning was amazing.

Just some noise from other inconsiderate guests.

The room was as described when I booked, and the large bed requested was super king size, and the bathroom facilities were excellent. There was a good choice of options at breakfast, which were always prepared to perfection, and presented in a timely manner. I must add that having the use of the honesty bar was very much appreciated at the end of the day, enjoying a drink either sitting indoors or outside in the lovely garden. Debbie, Vivien, Paul and Mark were outstanding hosts, they made us feel so welcome, and went that extra mile to make sure we had such a wonderful stay. We will be booking again for sure.

Could not find fault with anything during our stay at Amber House.

We both enjoyed our stay, we were made to feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. We were given help to carry our bags upstairs.

The bed was very firm, my personal preference is a softer mattress.

Everything ! Fantastic hotel and the owners are so accommodating and friendly the rooms are superb and clean and the showers are brilliant 🤩 15 mins walk to beach and good pubs etc Can’t recommend this place enough Will definitely be back
